SYRIA, Seleukis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. 78/7-17/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 15.23 g, 12 h), CY 17 = 65/4. Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche to right. Rev. ΛAOΔIKEΩΝ / [T]HΣ IEPAΣ KAI - AYTONOMOY Zeus seated left, holding Nike n his right hand and scepter in his left; in inner left field, ZI (date); below throne, monogram of ΠΑ; in exergue, ΑΣ; all within wreath. DCA 558. Mørkholm, Laodicea, 10c. A fresh, sharp and very attractive piece. Thin flan crack and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
